Experience the unspoiled jungles of Darién. This perfect roundtrip for adventurers at heart and nature lovers takes you to hidden spots and magical places deep in the rainforest of the Darien National Park. Bursting with lush nature, enchanting forest sounds, colorful animals and fresh air it is a truly rejuvenating experience. Apart from the incredibly beautiful nature, you will also gain insight into the traditional way of life and culture of the area´s inhabitants and indigenous Embera community. Only areas considered as safe will be visited.

Today we continue by boat to Garachiné. Depending on the boat, weather conditions and tides, the journey takes about two hours. After registering with Senafront you get into a 4WD vehicle to drive a bit further. Afterwards it is about an hour walk to the Cerro Naipe where lunch is waiting for you. After a further hike of approx. 5 – 6 hours the overnight camp is pitched in the middle of the Darién National Park. Overnight stay in hammocks that offer mosquito protection.

After breakfast a full day hike is waiting for you which goes along the river through the rainforest. You also have to cross the river. Here you will learn a lot about the fauna and flora. There are also bathing possibilities. In the late afternoon you reach the village of Embera where you will spend the night. Condition of the way: Route with obstacles like brook / river, mud spots or fallen trees and possibly with gradients or several knee-high traversing of a river according to choice.

Also today you will explore the rainforest and do nature observations. Today’s walk leads along the trail Águila Harpia. This takes about 5 – 6 hours (round trip). Lunch is going to be near an eagle’s nest of the eagle harpy. This eagle is also the national bird of Panama. With some luck you might get to see the gigantic bird. After return you will get to know more about the culture of the Embera. Test of the day at leisure. Condition of the way: Route with obstacles like brook / river, mud spots or fallen trees and possibly with gradients or several knee-high traversing of a river according to choice.
